"Spherophone"

Industrial design studio SmirnovDesign has announced a series of funny phones fulfilled in accordance with performance specification of its old partner ESPO Electronics.

The elaborated by specialists of the studio unusual design of habitual to all communication facility should attract attention to it of customers of very different interests and ages. Almost everyone can find in the phone something interesting to him/herself or his/her family.

The main task for designers was to create a phone with a surface suitable for covering it with different graphic images. Lots of sketches showed that the most optimal shape in this case is a sphere. In turn, a spherical shape of this unusual phone at once has become a subject of numerous improvisations of the studio's designers. As a matter of fact, it can be a “juicy” fruit series – water-melons, oranges, apples – almost everything! A “tasty” series can be continued with, for instance, burgers.

The same phone sets can look as sports accessories in form of basketball, football or any other balls – an excellent present for those who are addicted to sport.

Despite an unusual upper part, the phone has an interesting, not less stylish, integrated into a lower part of the product, rest. A thoroughly designed mechanism of rotating the rest easily converts the phone form a desk-top one to a wall phone.

Another interesting feature of this work is a button allowing choosing different melodies of ring.

As many other previous models of the studio elaborated for ESPO Electronics, unusual design of the phone should attract attention of buyers and spur on sales on Russian market of telephony.
