Design of front panel for car CD-receiver Ural |

To confirm its recent success in the field of developing product design for car audios, SmirnovDesign have fulfilled a project to create both design, and structure of a car CD-receiver’s new dismountable panel for a famous domestic brand Ural. |

A complex project was aimed at designing a model which is planned to become a basis for a whole series of articles differing not only in design, but also in functions. Therefore, there was issued the challenge to create not just a distinctive image of the front panel, - there should have been analyzed a similar articles segment in the whole marketplace and considered all possibilities of further development of brand Ural, as well as main trends in contemporary car audio design. That’s why to work on the project were invited experts, the main task of whom was to supervise a compatibility of developed design with Ural’s brand strategy. |

Yet in addition to rigid brand building tasks, the project was full of various technological limitations. For instance, due to economic considerations, Client made a decision to minimize the number of elements subject to substituting and therefore intended to diversify a range of the series. Because of it, a group of designers and engineers should have designed new stylistic elements bearing in mind a sites configuration of Ural’s previous model. |

There were performed all stages of designing the new panel: conceptualizing, sketching, 3D modeling with applying the newest powerful CAD systems, fulfilling high-quality renders of the future article, base model’s component designing, as well as issuing full technical documentation. Taking into account a longstanding experience of SmirnovDesign in developing complex electronic devices, from the very beginning to the work on the project were recruited design engineers of the company, coordinating all their efforts with an engineering department of the Client. A close interaction of the two drafting collectives became one of the most influential components of successful performance of the project. |

As a result, - similar to most previous projects, specialists of SmirnovDesign have fulfilled a complex task: they designed an unusual image of car audio device and, at the same time, developed a new component solution for this article. Moreover, the company’s designers developed a graphic interface of monitor including its animated part. |
