Industrial design in electrical technology

Industrial design studio SmirnovDesign designed a unique, in terms of marketing, series of switches and sockets for international corporation WESSEN. The aim of the project was to create a series-leader among inexpensive sockets and switches, which determined "simple" design and low cost price of the series. Design of the series, despite its apparent simplicity, is based on applying the newest software products allowing creating irreproachably smooth surfaces and glares of the so-called A-class.

An important part of the project became developing a structure and molds making for the series, which were fulfilled by draftsmen of SmirnovDesign and specialists of SmirnovTechnology as well. Thoroughly elaborated techniques allowed reducing costs of mechanisms structures harmlessly for the quality of functioning, reliability, and firing safety of the product as a whole.

Series "Hit”, made of snowy ABS plastic, became a real hit of "Electro-2004" exhibition, held in June in Krasnaya Presnia. A fusion of the advanced technologies with elegant shapes of design made the series a sales leader among electrotechnical articles of its range.
