Speech of SmirnovDesign General Director Sergey Smirnov at the All-Russian conference Development of Electronics

Sergey Smirnov – founder and General Director of SmirnovDesign – presented a report dedicated to the issues of developing product design for electronic devices at the All-Russian conference Development of Electronics. The participation in the conference became a continuation of collaboration with publishing house “Electronika”, in particular, with its journal “Elektronnye componenty” (“Electronic Components”).

The event took place on 3rd November 2005 in St. Petersburg at the Nevski Palace Hotel and unified directors and engineers of the leading Russian design-centers, as well as representatives from state and corporate organizations interested in developing new electronic devices.

An organizer of the conference was the publishing house “Electronika” – a real leader among specialized publishers in Russia and the CIS. The main themes of discussing became such relevant to a contemporary situation on the Russian market of electronics issues, as:
• developing unique products; • implementing new technologies; • reducing time necessary for launching new products to the market; • effective application of intellectual potential.

Sergey Smirnov noted a positive tendency in the development of the today’s market of designing new products in Russia, namely the fact that more and more companies-developers in Russia choose an integrated approach to the problem of launching a new product. Therefore, strategy of New Product Development in Russia is getting similar to that accepted in the West: Branding – Marketing – Design – Manufacturing
